Justin Baldoni waives adaptation against Blake Lively

Justin Baldoni has decided not to file an amended complaint in his case against Blake Lively, with whom he is engaged in a legal battle. That is what his lawyer Bryan Freedman told American media.

Earlier this month, a judge dismissed the case Baldoni had filed against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds. Baldoni accused the couple of defamation and demanded $400 million in damages. The American actor was given the opportunity by the judge to amend his charges and resubmit them, but he chooses not to do so.

“The court’s decision (to dismiss the case, ed.) is separate from the truth that there was no harassment or smear campaign,” Freedman said. Lively accuses Baldoni of sexual misconduct during the filming of It Ends With Us, in which they both play a leading role.

The judge also dismissed Baldoni’s cases against Lively and Reynolds’ PR manager and The New York Times. Earlier this year, Baldoni sued the newspaper for $250 million for defamation. The actor disagreed with an article about Lively’s allegations. But the judge ruled that the newspaper had adhered to journalistic principles.

Baldoni’s lawyer says he is confident that Lively’s allegations can be refuted. The lawsuit that Lively filed against Baldoni is scheduled for March 9, 2026.
