Ground staff from KLM may not stop eight hours on Wednesday afternoon. That is what the judge in summary judge in Amsterdam ruled on Friday.
The judge thus agrees in the argument of both KLM and Schiphol that the FNV and CNV announced by trade unions entails too many security risks.
Initially, the trade unions wanted the strike of desk staff and maintenance staff to take 24 hours. That action was banned by the court in Haarlem, also for safety risks.
The unions then decided to shorten the strike duration to eight o’clock. KLM tightened up summary proceedings to also prohibit this action. Successfully, it turns out Friday.
The ground staff of the airline are dissatisfied with their wages. KLM did a wage offer on Wednesday hoping to get the strike off the job in this way. The airline offered all trade unions this year a one -off payment of 1,000 euros per employee. KLM also proposed a structural wage increase of 2.5 percent from July 2026.
Despite this offer, CNV and FNV trade unions indicated that they were not prepared to continue the conversation. “We want KLM to come up with something concrete for the ground staff. We don’t buy anything for vague commitments,” said CNV.
