Jessie J is opgenomen in het ziekenhuis met infectie en vocht op de longen enkele weken nadat ze een operatie voor borstkanker onderging.
“Zes weken na de operatie ben ik terug op dezelfde afdeling. Niet verwacht of gepland”, aldus Jessie J.
In het ziekenhuis werden er meerdere tests bij de 37-jarige zangeres gedaan, waaruit bleek dat ze een infectie heeft opgelopen. Daardoor heeft ze moeite met ademen.
Inmiddels heeft Jessie J het ziekenhuis weer verlaten. “Ik haat het om in het ziekenhuis te zijn”, schrijft ze.
De zangeres maakte in juni bekend dat ze borstkanker had. Binnen een maand na haar diagnose werd ze geopereerd. Onlangs liet ze weten dat het herstel haar zwaar valt. “Het fysieke herstel verloopt verre van vlot of gemakkelijk, en mentaal is het de zwaarste periode voor me geweest”, schreef ze.
Ze zei het moeilijk te vinden dat ze niet de moeder kon zijn “die ze normaal gesproken” is. “En het was frustrerend om mijn carrièreplannen voor dit jaar te moeten wijzigen, na zo hard gewerkt te hebben om mijn doel te bereiken en er zo enthousiast over te zijn. Maar zo is het leven.”

“Six weeks after the operation, I’m back in the same ward. Not expected or planned,” said Jessie J.
In the hospital, the 37-year-old singer underwent several tests, which revealed that she had contracted an infection. This makes it difficult for her to breathe.
Jessie J has since left the hospital. “I hate being in the hospital,” she writes.
The singer announced in June that she had breast cancer. Within a month of her diagnosis, she underwent surgery. She recently announced that the recovery is difficult for her. “The physical recovery is far from smooth or easy, and mentally it has been the most difficult period for me,” she wrote.
She said she finds it difficult not to be the mother she “normally” is. “And it was frustrating to have to change my career plans for this year, after working so hard to achieve my goal and being so enthusiastic about it. But that’s life.”
