Indycar driver Rinus van Kalmthout says goodbye to Dale Coyne Racing after a year. The Dutchman became fourteenth in the Indycar series this season.
Van Kalmthout rode until last year for Ed Carpenter Racing. With that team, ‘Veekay’ booked his only Indycar victory in 2021. The leading contract of the Hoofddorper was not extended, which allowed him to join Dale Coyne Racing at the beginning of this year.
The 24-year-old Van Kalmthout won a podium place in the IndyCar Series for the first time in three years. He came in second to the Grand Prix of Toronto. Van Kalmthout finished seven times in the top ten this year.
“I want to thank Dale Coyne Racing, and in particular Dale and Gail Coyne, for the opportunity they offered me to put myself back on the map in 2025,” says Van Kalmthout. “This last season was genuine the best and nicest year in my career as an Indycar driver.”
It is still unclear where Van Kalmthout continues his career. The driver will soon announce his plans for 2026.
