Ide Schelling (27) stops cycling: 'I'm not so in love with the world'

Ide Schelling is ending his cycling career after this season. The 27-year-old Astana Rider Says in the podcast the big album that he enjoyed the sport less than before.

“I’m not so in love with the world anymore,” Schelling says in the podcast. This is partly because he feels he can no longer compete for victories.

“A lot has changed in the Peloton Since I Turned Pro in 2020,” Schelling Says. “All those changes have also ensured that the Level has picked up so much speed that I sometimes feel that I can no longer participate.”

Schelling Wore the Polka Dot Jersey in the Tour de France for Six Days in 2021 AS A Rider for Bora-Hansgrohe. In 2023, he won a stage at Both the Tour of the Basque Country and the Tour of Slovenia.

“I don’t have a very big engine,” Schelling Continues. “But you need such a big engine theses to be able to participate in a final. It’s hard through the race, from start to finish.”

Schelling also says that the sport can hardly be combined with a life Outside of it. “I Love Many Things Bears Cycling. If you only get a few week a year for that, I think that’s not enough.”
