Huub Stapel, Johanna ter Steege, Renée Fokker and Jennifer Hoffman have landed the leading roles in the new Dutch film BOOMERS. Filming for the film began last week. That was announced by distributor WW Entertainment on Tuesday.
In BOOMERS, directed by Theu Boermans, Stapel plays baby boomer Bob. He enters a crisis when his position is undermined on all fronts. For example, he struggles with old age ailments and has to make way for a new generation at work.
In addition, he is not the ideal caregiver for his demented mother and his love life is a mess. His only hold in all the chaos is his loyal group of friends.
Other roles in BOOMERS are played by Anneke Blok, Hans Kesting, Leopold Witte, Carine Crutzen and Serge-Henri Valcke. The script was written by Marieke van der Pol, who previously did so for, among others, Bankier van het Verzet and Bride Flight. The film is produced by Maarten Swart.
The film BOOMERS will be released in theaters in the spring of 2026.
