Hiphop collective New Wave is reuniting after ten years. The group will be giving a concert soon, concert organizer MOJO and record label TopNotch announced on Tuesday.
New Wave was formed in 2015 when a group of young rappers, singers, and producers locked themselves in a house on Schiermonnikoog for a week to make music together. This resulted in the album New Wave and marked the breakthrough of artists such as Ronnie Flex, Lil Kleine, Jonna Fraser, Frenna, Bokoesam, and Jack $hirak.
The collective won two Edisons with that album a year later and unexpectedly took home the Popprijs. The song Drank & Drugs by Lil Kleine and Ronnie Flex became a number 1 hit, and songs like Zeg Dat Niet, Langste SMS, and Investeren In De Liefde also did well.
When New Wave will perform has not yet been announced. Fans can already register online for tickets.
