Tata Steel in IJmuiden Emitted More of Several Substances Last Year than in Previous Years. This is accordance to the assessment of the Steel Company’s Electronic Environmental Annual Report by the North Sea Canal area Environmental Service.
The North Sea Canal Area Environmental Service (OD NZKG) has Asked Tata Steel for An Explanation for the Increases. In A Response, Tata States That It does not Dispute the Assessment, But Says That the Different Years Cannot Be Directly Compared for Several Reasons.
For Example, The Od NZKG Has Been Conducting Its Own Measurements More Often Since 2024, which May Be One of the Causes of the Higher Emissions. The service had previously reported that substances had leg measured that tata steel itelf had not previously measured or reported.
The Environmental Service also Measures in More Places and in Different Ways Than The Steel Company Itself. Tata Steel HAS Included thesis Measurements in The Annual Report at the Urging of the Od NZKG.
The Company Reports on Substances Such As Nitrogen Oxide, Sulfur Dioxide, and Heavy Metals. The Emissions of Benzene, Lead, Nickel, And Zinc, Among Others, Have Increased Significantly.
