Hans Klok accidentally gets a saber 'right through his arm' during show

Illusionist Hans Klok was injured on Sunday evening during a performance in Scheveningen when he got a saber “straight through his arm.” Klok finished the show and received stitches in the hospital afterward.

The illusionist was chained in a cardboard box for a well-known trick, where spectators were allowed to stick sabers through it. Normally, Klok manages to dodge the sabers, but this time he was hit in his right arm.

“I had a sword straight through my arm,” Klok told RTL Boulevard. “Fortunately, it ended well.” According to his management, he was lucky because no nerve, muscle, or vein was hit.

Klok told press agency ANP that he always finds the act “a bit scary.” “You have to keep your head.”

The illusionist finished his show while his arm was bandaged between acts. Afterward, an ambulance was waiting to take him to the hospital, where the wound in his arm was stitched.

The show Hans Klok & Friends can be seen in Scheveningen for three weeks starting this weekend. The performances will continue, Klok himself said during the show.
