Groenewegen has taste and sprint to second stage victory in Slovenia

Dylan Groenewegen achieved a new stage victory in the Tour of Slovenia on Friday. The reigning Dutch champion was once again the best in the mass sprint.

The 31-year-old Groenewegen started the sprint in the wheel of Juan Sebastián Molano on the slightly ascending finish street in Ormoz and then convincingly passed the Colombian. The difference at the finish line was half a bike length.

Groenewegen was also the best in the opening stage to Skofljica on Wednesday. Then the sprinter of Team Jayco AlUla convincingly defeated the German Phil Bauhaus, who finished third on Friday.

Groenwegen is preparing for the Tour de France in the Tour of Slovenia, which starts on July 5. The sprinter hopes to achieve another stage victory in the world’s largest cycling race. Currently, the counter stands at six stage victories in the Tour, one of which was last year.
