Ariana Grande’s grandmother, Marjorie ‘Nonna’ Grande, has passed away at the age of 99. The singer shared a statement from her mother, Joan, on Instagram on Tuesday.
“It is with great sorrow that we share that our beloved matriarch has passed away,” reads the message signed by ‘The Grandes’. “Marjorie (Nonna) Grande passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and loved ones during every moment of her final weeks. We thank you for your love, support, and respect for our privacy as we mourn and celebrate her beautiful, extraordinary life.”
Grande regularly shared photos and videos of her grandmother on social media. Nonna also contributed vocals to several of the singer’s songs, including Bloodline (2019) and Daydreamin (2024).
In 2023, she made music history by becoming the oldest person ever to be listed on the American Billboard Hot 100. She was featured on ordinary things, a song from Ariana’s most recent album eternal sunshine.
