Daan Huizing finished as the best Dutchman at the KLM Open on Sunday. The 34-year-old golfer from Soest finished in a shared nineteenth place. The tournament in Badhoevedorp was won by the Scot Connor Syme.
Huizing started the final day in a shared eighth place after he had played a fine round of 69 strokes (2 under par) on Saturday.
On Sunday, Huizing was in the top ten for almost the entire day, after he had recorded two birdies and two bogeys on the first sixteen holes. A double bogey on the penultimate hole caused him to drop out of the top of the leaderboard.
Huizing completed the final round in 73 strokes. With that, the Dutchman ended up on 284 strokes (par).
The 29-year-old Syme recorded a final round of 70 strokes despite the strong wind and rain. With a total of 273, he finished two strokes ahead of the Swede Joakim Lagergen. It is Syme’s first tournament victory on the DP World Tour.
For Joost Luiten, the tournament was already over after two days. The two-time winner of the KLM Open did not make the cut.
