Actor Gérard Depardieu was still charged in Paris for the rape of actress Charlotte Arnould in 2018. The case was previously dismissed for lack of evidence, but was later reopened after new developments.
“I have trouble realizing how big this is,” writes 29-year-old Arnould on Instagram. “I am relieved.”
The French actress reported Depardieu in 2018 because he would have raped her in the same year. The case was later reopened by new developments. It is not yet known when Depardieu should appear in the court of Paris.
In May, the 76-year-old Depardieu was sentenced in another case to a conditional imprisonment of eighteen months. The actor received that punishment for assaulting two women on a film set in 2021. The appeal in that case is still ongoing.
In October the French film icon must also appear in court for a mistreatment case that was brought by the Italian photographer Rino Barillari.
Depardieu has been accused of sexual abuse more often in recent years. The actor has always denied debt.
