From now on, Ukrainian refugees have to pay more than twice as high personal contributions

The own contribution for working Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands will more than double. This was announced by outgoing minister Mona Keijzer (Asylum and Migration) on Friday. For a single Ukrainian, the amount will increase from 105 to 244 euros per month.

Since July last year, Ukrainian refugees who reside and work in the Netherlands have had to contribute to their reception in the municipality. Former migration minister Marjolein Faber (PVV) had already announced that the amount would increase, but not by how much.

Keijzer is now providing clarity on this. A single working Ukrainian will henceforth pay 244 euros per month instead of 105 euros. For a family, the own contribution will increase from 210 euros to a maximum of 488 euros per month.

Ukrainians who stay in places where catering is provided must also pay 252 euros on top of that. The catering fee will not increase.
