Forty -year -old man died after 'unqualification' upon arrest in The Hague

A 40-year-old man died in The Hague on Monday evening after being apprehended by the police, the Public Prosecution Service confirms to NU.nl following reports from Regio15. The man became “unwell at some point” during the arrest.

The cause of death is not yet known. Medical assistance was provided to the man in the courtyard of the police station on Jan Hendrikstraat. “But it was to no avail,” the spokesperson said.

The National Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the case. The investigation will examine whether violence was used by the man or the police.

It is unknown why the man was arrested. It is also unclear where in The Hague the arrest took place.
