Alexander Kristoff has ended his cycling career in a sad and painful way. The 38-year-old Former Winner of Milan-San Remo and the Tour of Flanders had to Abandon the Tour de Langkawi After a Fall.
Kristoff had Traveled to Langkawi to Possible Extend his Number of 98 Victories to the Magical Limit of One Hundred, but he did not succeed. Before he had to give up on the penultimate day after a fall in the waste zone on Saturday, he remained stuck on a second place and two fifth places.
Kristoff Sustained Several Open Wounds in His Fall, Including on His Palms and Left Arm. “This is not how I wanted to end this race and my career,” Kristoff Said in a video from his team Uno-X Mobility.
“But Cycling is a Tough Sport and Everything Can Change Quickly,” Continued the Norwegian Hard Rider. “I’m not going to lie awake for too long. Life goes on. I had a good time here.”
Kristoff won the Italian Monument Milan-San Remo in 2014 and a year later he was the best in the tour of Flanders. He also won Gent-Wevelgem (2019) and a Total of Four Stages in the Tour de France.
