Following the Telstar-FC Den Bosch match on Friday in Velsen-Zuid, fights broke out on the field between supporters of both clubs. At least one person was injured. Telstar won the semi-finals of the promotion play-offs 2-1 against the away team.
Telstar scored the 2-1 in extra time through Danny Bakker, which, after the 0-0 from the first leg, was enough for a place in the final of the play-offs for promotion to the Eredivisie. After the final whistle, Telstar fans stormed the field to celebrate the victory, but Den Bosch supporters also entered the field.
This resulted in several confrontations between the fans of Telstar and Den Bosch. The police and stewards intervened after some time, after which the supporters left the field.
At least one supporter was injured in the riots at the 711 Stadium. A cloth was stretched around the man, but he was eventually able to stand up and leave the field himself. It is unclear whether there are any more victims.
Telstar will face FC Dordrecht or Willem II in the final of the play-offs, who will play the second match against each other on Saturday. The first leg ended in a 2-1 victory for FC Dordrecht. The final matches will be played next week on Thursday and Sunday.
