Feyenoord does not have to consider the departure of Anis Hadj Moussa this summer. The coveted attacker signed a new contract on Thursday, which keeps him under contract in Rotterdam until the summer of 2030.
According to various Portuguese media, the 23-year-old Hadj Moussa has recently been courted by Benfica, which was looking for a replacement for the injured Ángel Di María. However, it never came to a concrete proposal.
“No one needs to doubt my intentions or the pride I have in playing for this club,” Hadj Moussa says on Feyenoord’s website about his new contract. “I know very well what I have at Feyenoord. Since I came here a year ago, I have already taken so many steps in my development.”
Hadj Moussa is one of the few tastemakers who will stay with Feyenoord. The club recently saw defender Dávid Hancko (Atlético Madrid) and attacker Igor Paixão (Olympique Marseille) leave De Kuip. Antoni Milambo also left, to Premier League club Brentford.
In total, no fewer than sixteen players have left Feyenoord this summer, which finished third in the Eredivisie last season. The club has so far brought in seven new players, including Eredivisie top scorer Sem Steijn. The transfer market is open in the Netherlands until September 1.
Hadj Moussa came over from the Belgian club Patro Eisden last year for 3.5 million euros, after playing for Vitesse on loan for a year. Among other things, he made a name for himself with a goal in the Champions League match against Manchester City, which led to an amazing comeback (3-3).
