Feyenoord icon Ove Kindvall has passed away at the age of 82. The Swedish striker scored the winning goal (2-1) in the 1970 European Cup I final and became a club hero.

Kindvall won the European Cup I, the predecessor of the Champions League, with Feyenoord in Milan in 1970, the first Dutch club ever to do so. In the final’s extra time, the striker scored the winning goal in San Siro in Milan with a brilliant lob.

The Swede played for Feyenoord between 1966 and 1971. In total, he played 144 matches for the Rotterdam club, in which he scored 129 goals.

After his successful years in Rotterdam, he moved to IFK Norrköping, where he also started his football career in 1962. He spent his last professional years at IFK Göteborg, where he ended his career in 1977.

Kindvall played 43 times for the Swedish national team and scored 16 international goals. He participated in the 1970 and 1974 World Cups.
