Mayor Femke Halsema of Amsterdam Received a Winq Award on Friday Evening for Defending the Lgbtqia+ Community. Halsema Received the Award in Part because she participated in a banned pride march in Budapest in June.
In The Culture Category, The Winq Award Went to Director Dennis Alink. He released the film out last year. Alink won Several Awards Abroad and Out was shown in the United States, Among Other Places.
The Winq Inspiration Award Went to the Videoland Series I Kissed A Girl . In that show, a Group of Women Go to a remote location Abroad in Search of a Potential Partner. It is the first Dutch dating show for queer women.
In The Media Category, The VPRO Podcast and No One, Left was unaffected was awarded. The Podcast by Writer Maurits de Bruijn and Film and Podcast Producer Randy Vermeulen Tells the Story of Queer People who Grew Up in the Shadow of the Aids Crisis. It deals with, Among Other Things, The Stigmas Surrounding HIV and AIDS.
The Winq Community Award Went to Queer Boxing. That is a free sports initiative in Amsterdam by boxing coach Jay Muller to give queer people more self-confidence.
