Femke Bol won another 400-meter hurdles race in the Diamond League on Saturday. The Dutch athlete was in a class of her own in a rainy Olympic Stadium in London.
Bol clocked 52.10 seconds, her second-best time of the season. Last week in Monaco, she sped to 51.95, the world’s best time this year in the 400 hurdles.
The reigning world champion continued her impressive winning streak in the Diamond League in London. She won the 400-meter hurdles for the 28th consecutive time in the competition series. The Diamond League is considered the highest level in athletics after the major tournaments.
Bol’s biggest competitors were absent in London. American Jasmine Jones finished second in 53.18. Andrenette Knight from Jamaica came in third in 53.79.
For the 25-year-old Bol, it was her fourth Diamond League victory of the year. She previously won in Rabat, Stockholm, and Monaco. The top athlete is mainly focusing on the World Championships in Tokyo in September this season. Then she wants to attack her Dutch record of 50.95.
