Much fewer trains to and from Schiphol due to signal failure

Far fewer trains will run to, via and from Schiphol on Wednesday morning due to a signal failure. The problems are expected to be resolved around 8:15 am.

Rail manager ProRail is trying to find out exactly where the signal failure is, a spokesperson told the ANP news agency. “We know that it is in a switch, but not where. It is clear that it is somewhere near Schiphol.”

According to the spokesperson, it does not often happen that it is unclear where the fault is located. The outage started around 1:00 am.

Fewer intercity trains are also running between Leiden and The Hague due to a signal failure. This is also expected to be resolved around 8:15 am.
