Famous Greek 'Moon beach' for the time being saved after withdrawal permit Hotel

The Construction of a Hotel on the Famous Greek Beach Sarakiniko Will not Process for the Time Being. The Municipal Council of the Greek Island of Milos Has Revoked the Building Permit for a Hotel, to the Relief of the Local Population.

Sarakiniko is also Known as the ‘Moon Beach’. Due to the Volcanic Activity on the Island, The Beach Consists Almost Entirely of White Pumice Stone, Making It Look A Lot Like The Surface of the Moon. The Beach is a major tourist attraction and one of the most photographed beaches in the world.

A Company had a permit to build the first luxury hotel on the beach, but it has now leg revoked. The Company “Does not comply with all the rules,” Says the Municipality. This means that the construction has been postponed for the time being, but not yet canceled.

“This Decision is good news, but it is only a small step in the right direction,” Says the Chairman of A Local Civil Movement to Save the Beach to the Guardian . “They want to complete build up the islands, which would be the death knell for their beauty.” The Locals Want the Mayor to Ban Building on the Iconic Beaches of the Island.
