Dart player Fallon Sherrock will temporarily stop playing darts after this season. The ‘Queen of the Palace’ has to temporarily stop her career due to the kidney disease she has suffered from for more than ten years.
Sherrock is still trying to qualify for the World Championship, which starts in December. But after that she will put her career on the back burner due to her physical condition.
“I want to be able to practice at home a few times a day, but even that is not possible for me at the moment,” Sherrock tells Online Darts. “I have had to cancel a few matches because I am simply not fit enough.”
There is a chance that Sherrock will be out of circulation for at least a year. “Now I have to find myself again, get healthy again. And once that has happened, anything is possible. Because I know what I can do. Fingers crossed, hopefully I’ll be back on top in a few years.”
Sherrock made darts history during the 2020 World Championship. She defeated Ted Evetts in the first round, becoming the first female dart player to defeat a man at the World Championship. Sherrock also won against Mensur Suljovic, before losing to Chris Dobey.
In her subsequent WL participations, however, she was eliminated in the first round each time. In 2024, this happened against the Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena.
