Despite sanctions, Ukrainian drone attacks and a temporary export ban on gasoline, Russia performed more fuel oil at the beginning of August than at any time since the start of the war in Ukraine.
This is according to figures from Bloomberg news agency. In the first ten days of the month, an average of 882,000 barrels crossed the border every day. That is almost half more than in July.
Especially in Asia, the fuel was wanted: the exports doubled. The total export of oil products rose by 9 percent to 2.3 million barrels per day.
It is striking that the export increase took place despite a series of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries and fuel depots, intended to disrupt production and output. A temporary export ban on gasoline also applied to maintain the domestic stock, while the diesel output ran back.
In total, the export of Russian oil products increased by 9 percent to 2.3 million barrels per day.
