The twenty -year -old Hadjar put his trophy after a team photo was taken just a little too hard on the floor and suddenly only had the upper part in his hands. The surprised driver was shocked for a moment, but then seemed to be able to laugh.
Shortly before, Hadjar had spoken to the press on the Zandvoort Circuit with a big smile. The Racing Bulls driver had qualified as fourth and reached the third finish due to a late drop -out of Lando Norris. That meant his first podium place in Formula 1.
“It feels unreal,” said Hadjar. “What surprised me was that I was able to hold that fourth place for the entire race. Too bad for Lando with his problem, but we benefited from it well. I removed everything and made no mistakes.”

According to Hadjar, his podium place was fulfilled a dream. He made his debut in Formula 1 at the beginning of this year. “This was always my goal since I was a child. This is the first step and hopefully more will follow.”
Moreover, it was a season of extremes for Hadjar. With his debut in Melbourne, he crashed in the warm -up round and his race was already ready for this. He walked to the paddock, crying. “I thought my life was over. And now I am standing here. I will not forget this my life.”
