The Efteling attraction Danse Macabre is closed indefinitely, reports Omroep Brabant on Monday. The attraction broke down on Thursday and has not been open since.
“Efforts have been made throughout the weekend to fix the technical malfunction, but unfortunately, that has not been successful,” says a spokesperson for the amusement park. “We had really hoped that Danse Macabre could reopen on Monday morning.”
The attraction, which has been open since May and is very popular with visitors, has experienced malfunctions more often.
Danse Macabre is set in an old abbey and is part of a larger themed area. Visitors take a seat on rotating benches in a round hall. These move along with a large disc that can tilt, rise, fall, and rotate, while the benches themselves also rotate.
The Efteling cannot say how long the repair will take.
