In a collision between two boats on Lake Como in Northern Italy, a 33-year-old Dutch woman has died, according to Italian media including Corriere della Sera. The woman fell into the water and hit a propeller as a result of the collision.
The accident happened not far from the town of Como, in the southern part of the lake of the same name. According to local media, the woman and six friends had rented a boat.
Around 4:00 PM, the woman’s boat collided with another vessel, causing her to fall into the water, where she hit a propeller.
The woman was pulled from the water by a third boat and taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. According to the news site QuiComo, a 44-year-old man, presumably a passenger on the other boat, was also injured. His life is not in danger.
