Dutch man (57) dies after falling in the slit of Swiss glacier

A 57-year-old Dutch man died after a fall in a crack of a glacier in Switzerland. That happened near the town of Engelberg. He was missing since Monday.

The man went for a walk on Monday morning in the Titlis area in the Alps. He would have been killed on the Galitberg Gletsher.

When the man did not return on Monday evening, he was given up missing, writes the Luzerner Zeitung. A search was then started, in which alpinists and tracking dogs were used. They searched in vain until late in the evening.

The search was resumed on Tuesday. Just before noon, rescue workers found the man in a glacier cleft. His body was then salvaged.

The search resumed on Tuesday. Shortly Before Noon, Rescuers Found the Man in A Crevasse. His body was then recovered.
