Dutch 3x3 basketball players are in the World Cup final for the first time after a new victory

The Dutch 3×3 women’s basketball team has reached the final of the World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. In the semi-finals, Orange won 21-15 against Canada.

The Netherlands and Canada were evenly matched for a long time. Halfway through, it was still 10-10. After that, Orange distanced themselves from the Canadians, who were losing World Cup finalists in 2022. Noor Driessen was the star player with nine points.

It is the first time that the Dutch women have reached the World Cup final. Orange had already equaled their best World Cup performance ever by reaching the semi-finals. In 2017, the Netherlands also reached the last four of the global championship, but then Russia was too strong.

The 3×3 basketball players will play the World Cup final. The opponent is Mongolia. The host country defeated Poland (18-17) in the other semi-final thanks to a two-pointer in overtime.
