Drone finds Israeli resort of Eilat: at least twenty injured reported

At least twenty people were injured in a drone attack on the Israeli resort of Eilat, Israeli emergency services report. According to the IDF, the drone came from Yemen.

Eilat is a tourist seaside resort in southern Israel, on the border with Egypt and Jordan.

At least two people were seriously injured according to the ambulance service. One person is slightly injured in his upper body by grenade shards, writes Al Jazeera . The remaining seventeen people are said to have been slightly injured in their limbs due to grenade shards.

Drones and rockets are regularly fired on Israel, for example by Houthi rebels from Yemen or by Hamas, but they are almost always shot from the air by the Iron Dome. That is the Israel air defense system. It is therefore quite exceptional that so many people are injured in an attack on the land.
