Dozens of migrants died in a shipwreck off the coast of Yemen on Sunday. Another dozens of people are missing. The fear is that many of them have not survived the accident either.

According to the AFP news agency, the shipwreck took place off the coast of the South Jemeni province of Abyan.

AP news agency reports based on the Migration Service of the United Nations that at least 74 African migrants have died. At least 54 bodies washed up on the Yemeni coast. Twelve migrants would have survived the shipwreck.

In total there were 154 Ethiopians on board the ship, AP writes. Dozens of people are still missing and the fear is that the death toll will rise to more than a hundred. A search is still going on.
