Donald Trump earned a lot of money last year with crypto and his golf resorts

The American president Donald Trump earned a lot last year from income from cryptos and his golf resorts. Money also came in from the sale of, for example, Trump Sneakers and perfumes, according to a document released on Friday, as reported by news agency Reuters.

The disclosure form for Trump’s finances shows, according to the news agency, that activities in the crypto world have significantly contributed to his wealth. The memecoin $TRUMP, launched earlier this year, is said to account for hundreds of millions of dollars in income alone, although it is not clear how that income is precisely divided between Trump and his business partners.

In total, the president reported assets worth at least 1.6 billion dollars (1.38 billion euros), Reuters calculated. His wealth ranges from companies in crypto to real estate, and a large part is nominally connected to his stake in Trump Media & Technology Group. This is also the case with the owner of his social media platform Truth Social.

The news agency does nuance that the disclosure does not include Trump’s complete finances. For example, the document often only gives bandwidths for his assets and income. Reuters used the lowest mentioned amount, which according to the news agency means that the total value of his assets and income is almost certainly higher.

Although Trump has said that he has placed his companies in a trust managed by his children, the data, according to Reuters, shows how income still ends up with the president. Some of his companies, for example in the crypto sector, also benefit from policy changes under his rule, according to the news agency.
