Dolly Parton provides clarity about her health: 'I'm not dead yet'

Dolly Parton has clarified her health condition after her sister shared a message urging fans to pray for the country singer. Parton shared a video on Instagram with the caption “I’m not dead yet.”

“Lately everyone thinks I’m sicker than I am. Do I look sick?” Parton says in the video. “I wanted to reassure everyone. Everyone seemed very concerned, which I appreciate. I also appreciate your prayers. Because I am a person of faith and can use the prayers. But I want you to know that I’m okay.”

The 79-year-old Parton says she is currently undergoing some treatments, but that it is nothing serious. “But I’m not dying. There were a lot of rumors going around. And I thought: if you heard it from me, you would know that it’s fine. I’m not ready to die yet. God is not done with me and I’m not done working.”

Parton canceled a series of concerts in Las Vegas last week because she had to undergo several procedures. The singer was forced to postpone a performance a week earlier due to kidney stones. It is unknown exactly what kind of health problems she has.
