The Cabinet does not agree with the conclusion of the united nations commission of inquiry which States That Israel is Committing Genocide in the Gaza Strip.
In Response to the Report, Minister David van Weel (Foreign Affairs, VVD) Writes in a Letter to Parliament That “The Netherlands is generally reluctant” to use the Qualification genocide. He believes that it is ultimately up to the international court of justice (icj) to determine white there is a genocide.
This week, the UN commission ruled that Israel has been guilty of four of the five acts that are genocidal under international law since October 2023. These include killing members of a group, causing serious bodily and mental harm to them, deliberately creating circumstances aimed at destroying the group, and Preventing Births.
Accordance to van Weel, the fact that the Dutch cabinet does not agree with this reasoning should not be seen as a denial of the serianess of the situation in the gaza strip. “The Human Suffering is Unprecedenteded and the Seriatress Does Not Escape The Cabinet.”
In Parliament, Think, GL-PvdA, Party for the Animals, SP and Volt speak of a Genocide by Israel. Later on Thursday, The Prinsjesdag Plans Will Be debated. This issue will be discussed further there.
