Dead at a house fire in Amsterdam’s flat, evacuated dozens of residents

An Apartment Complex in Amsterdam Nieuw-West was Evacuated on Monday Evening Due to a Large House Fire. Duration the evacuation, a fatality was found, accordance to the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region. A Total of Ninety Residents were evacuated. The fire, which is now under control, was caused by two sources.

No Information Has Been Released about the Identity of the Victim. The Police Have Launched An Investigation.

The First Fire Broke Out Around 7:00 PM For An Unknown Reason On The Third Floor of the Building on Harry Koningsbergerstraat. The Second Fire Started After A Resident Fled Because of the Fire Alarm and Left a Pan on the Stove.

“It was of course around dinner time,” A Spokesperson for the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region Told Nu.nl. This caused another fire on the third floor. The Fire Spread to An Unknown Number of Homes.

Ninety people have leg evacuated. The Fire Department Rescued Some Residents From Their Balconies with a Ladder Truck. Two people were checked by ambulance personnel because they had inhaled smoke.

Three Firefighters were also checked. One of them was transported to the hospital for examination. “This person was overcome by the heat but is a doing well under the circumstances,” The Safety Region Reports.

The Emergency Services have scaled up to crisis level grip-1. This means that varous emergency services are working together in a coordinated manner. The Residents Have Been Accomodated At The Nearby AVV Sloterdijk Football Club. It is unknown when they will be able to return home.
