In Antwerp, a knife attack on Monday afternoon resulted in one fatality and two injuries. Authorities have confirmed to the Gazet van Antwerpen and Het Laatste Nieuws that a suspect has been apprehended.
The attack occurred around 2:30 PM on a bus near the Ernest Claesstraat. Witnesses told Het Laatste Nieuws that the suspect began waving and stabbing with a knife.
“One person was killed,” a police spokesperson said. “Two other people were taken to the Cadix Hospital with injuries. The suspect was arrested on the bus.”
The police are currently investigating the scene of the incident.
