Danny Noppert was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Dutch Darts Championship in Rosmalen on Sunday. The Dutchman threw an average of 107 but lost 6-4 to Jonny Clayton.
Noppert was broken in the second leg, quickly facing a 3-0 deficit. The Dutchman came back to 4-4, after which the Welshman took two consecutive legs. Clayton finished the match with an average of 106.
Noppert reached the quarterfinals by defeating Belgian Mario Vandenbogaerde in the second round on Saturday (6-2) and Australian Damon Heta in the third round on Sunday afternoon (6-5).
Only Wessel Nijman is still in the tournament. He will face Ryan Searle in the quarterfinals later on Sunday evening. The semi-finals and the final are also scheduled for Sunday evening.
