Chris Brown has been released on bail by the court in London. The American singer had been detained since last week, as he is accused of serious assault. It appears that his concert on June 8 in Amsterdam can proceed.

Brown is suspected of inflicting serious physical injury on someone in a London nightclub in 2023. Last week, Brown was arrested in a hotel in Manchester. An earlier attempt by Brown to be released on bail was not approved. The next hearing in the case is on June 13 in a court in London.

Brown’s new tour, the Breezy Bowl XX Tour, is scheduled to begin on June 8 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam. It appeared that Brown would be detained until June 13 and that the concert would not proceed. According to BBC News, the terms of the bail include that Brown can begin his world tour as planned. NU.nl has asked concert organizer MOJO whether the concert will indeed proceed.

The alleged victim of the 2023 violence incident already sued Brown in October 2023 for the assault. He demanded $15 million (more than 13 million euros) in damages for the physical and emotional damage suffered. That case is still ongoing.

The 36-year-old artist has also been linked to violent incidents in the past. In 2009, he was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna. And in 2017, he was issued a restraining order because he allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
