Chris Brown again submits a request for release on bail

Chris Brown will file another request for bail on Wednesday, Reuters reports. The American singer was arrested on Thursday in a Manchester hotel on suspicion of aggravated assault and has been in custody since.

The 36-year-old Brown allegedly caused serious physical injury to a music producer in nightclub Tape London in central London in 2023. The singer was arrested last week after arriving in the United Kingdom.

During an initial hearing, the judge ruled that Brown could not be released on bail and must remain in pre-trial detention until the next hearing at the earliest. The next hearing is on June 13 in a London court.

The arrest has cast uncertainty on the upcoming world tour of the two-time Grammy Award winner. Brown’s world tour is scheduled to begin on June 8 in Amsterdam. It is not yet known what the arrest means for the tour and the singer’s concert in Amsterdam.

This is not the first time that Brown, known for hits like Loyal and Run It, has been linked to violent incidents. In 2009, he was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna. In 2017, he was given a restraining order for threatening his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
