Care parties and the Ministry give the green light for the care agreement

Care organizations and the Ministry of Health have given the green light for the healthcare agreement. This definitively establishes a plan to keep healthcare affordable and more effective in the coming years.

The parties and the government want to reduce the time healthcare personnel spend on administration, among other things.

They also mention artificial intelligence as a solution. In the next ten years, hundreds of millions of euros will be allocated to investigate ‘breakthrough resources’.

The new healthcare agreement also allocates more money for screening women with dense breast tissue. Regular breast cancer screenings are not effective enough for these women. An estimated 160,000 of such screenings are performed annually.

MRIs may become more expensive for these women in the future. Money is being set aside for this.

Another intention is to train more personnel. In addition, the shingles vaccine will be included in the National Vaccination Program. As a result, people aged sixty or older can now be vaccinated for free.
