Bob Vylan no longer performs in Paradiso after a fuss around the Glastonbury performance

The performance of rap group Bob Vylan on September 12 in Paradiso has been canceled. There has been controversy in recent weeks about the arrival of the duo, after the frontman at the British festival Glastonbury shouted “death, death to the Israeli army.”

Bob Vylan was actually the opening act for rock band Gogol Bordello. Paradiso was anonymously threatened by the planned performance. Last week, a banner was placed in front of the pop temple with the text “If Bob Vylan plays that night, Amsterdam will stand and fight“.

Bob Vylan made the news because the rap duo shouted “death, death to the Israeli army” during a performance at Glastonbury. In the aftermath, several performances by the group have already been canceled.

Gogol Bordello announced that Bob Vylan is no longer involved in their entire tour due to “logistical complications”. “Unfortunately, it is logistically impossible for Bob Vylan to participate in the tour given the circumstances,” the rock band writes. “We have worked hard with our friends Bob Vylan to find a solution, but in the end it did not materialize.”

Gogol Bordello will also play at 013 Poppodium in Tilburg on October 19. A performance by Bob Vylan was also planned there.
