Beerensteyn in the direction of Ek-Start Back at the Scraps of Treatment Orange

Lineth Beerensteyn participated in the Orange group training for the first time since the start of the European Championship preparation on Tuesday. The first training in Switzerland was interrupted due to thunderstorms.

Beerensteyn participated in the warm-up round and was also present with the group for exercises after the thunderstorm break. The 114-time international has been working on an individual program since the start of preparation (June 19) due to her rehabilitation.

Beerensteyn played her last game at the end of April and started a race against time to reach the European Championship. National coach Andries Jonker said last week that Beerensteyn is “absolutely convinced” that she will make the tournament.

Jonker may make one change to his selection 24 hours before the first game, provided there is a medical reason. Shanice van de Sanden has traveled to Switzerland as a reserve. Orange will play their first group match against Wales on Saturday.

Training Halted for 20 Minutes Due to Thunderstorm

The first training in Thun started on Tuesday at 6:30 PM. The team was warming up when suddenly a flash of lightning was seen. The players, like Jonker, ran towards the dugout. It was then decided to train in the gym. After twenty minutes, Orange reported back on the field.

The Dutch national team arrived earlier in the day in Spiez, where the team is staying at the Belvédère Hotel. Due to the travel day, Orange would have completed part of the training in the gym anyway.

Orange also plays against England (next Wednesday) and France (next Sunday) in the ‘group of death’.
