Jamal Musiala sustained a nasty injury at the Club World Cup on Saturday. The Bayern Munich midfielder was forced to leave the quarter-final match against Paris Saint-Germain.
The 22-year-old Musiala tried to intercept the ball just before halftime. However, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and defender Willian Pacho of PSG were slightly ahead of him.
Musiala ended up between the two PSG players and tripped over Donnarumma. In the process, the midfielder was seriously injured. He immediately grabbed his ankle, which appeared to be bent.
Donnarumma then looked at Musiala, who was writhing in pain on the ground. The Italian goalkeeper burst into tears. Several players walked off the field in disbelief after the halftime signal.
This is not the first injury for Musiala this year. He previously missed the climax of the Bundesliga due to a muscle tear in his hamstring.
The quarter-final between Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain is currently still in progress. At halftime, the score was 0-0.
