AZ has sold David Møller Wolfe to Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Alkmaar side will reportedly receive around 12 million euros for the 23-year-old left-back.
AZ paid around 2.5 million euros to SK Brann in the summer of 2023 for the arrival of Møller Wolfe. He started hesitantly, but quickly became a permanent fixture. In total, Møller Wolfe played 92 matches for AZ, in which he scored four times and provided nine assists.
After two years, the Alkmaar club is selling him for a significant profit. Møller Wolfe has signed for five years with Wolves, who finished sixteenth in the Premier League last season.
“David has developed excellently in the past two years,” says technical director Max Huiberts on the AZ club website. “With his dynamism, defensive reliability and offensive qualities, he made an important contribution to the team’s performances.”
Due to the sale of Møller Wolfe, AZ’s total transfer revenue this summer is approaching 50 million euros. The club previously sold Ruben van Bommel to PSV (for around 15 million euros) and Jayden Addai to the Italian Como (for around 14 million euros).
Wolves finished sixteenth in the Premier League last season. At Molineux Stadium, Møller Wolfe will have to compete with Spaniard Hugo Bueno, who spent last season on loan at Feyenoord.
