AVROTROS received 'many reports' about Reinier at Flikken Maastricht

AVROTROS and producer Hollands Licht have released a statement regarding Victor Reinier’s departure from the series Flikken Maastricht. The broadcaster states that they have received ‘a substantial number of reports’ from both cast and crew members regarding the actor’s attitude and behavior.

The broadcaster and the producer want to emphasize with the statement that there has been no quarrel between Reinier and Angela Schijf, the other lead actor in Flikken Maastricht.

“Following the news surrounding Victor Reinier’s departure from Flikken Maastricht, the impression has arisen in recent months that a disturbed working attitude between the two lead actors was the cause of this. This is emphatically incorrect.” Reinier, along with Schijf, appeared in the series for nineteen seasons.

Following these reports, discussions were held with Reinier, both by AVROTROS and Hollands Licht. They both find “a safe working environment of the utmost importance, making a termination of the collaboration with Victor Reinier inevitable.”

The 62-year-old actor responded to his dismissal in the Flemish Dag Allemaal on Tuesday. He said, among other things, that he no longer needs a conversation with Schijf. “I really tried that, believe me. Talking is the only way to get closer, but that clearly didn’t work,” he said.
