The Dutch branch of fast-food chain Taco Bell has been declared bankrupt by the court in Rotterdam. The originally American company serves Mexican food and had ten locations in our country, including in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, and Utrecht.
This concerns the company T Bello Netherlands, which is owned by the British company MSHA. T Bello managed the Taco Bell franchise and restaurants in our country. The American branch of Taco Bell often works in this way with franchisees and is not involved in the bankruptcy.
It is the second time that the Dutch branch of Taco Bell has gone bankrupt. Two years ago, the then-franchisee also went bankrupt.
Taco Bell has not been successful in the Netherlands in the past ten years. In 2016, the chain announced that it wanted fifty restaurants in our country in ten years.
