ALDI is urging customers not to eat their cheese, but to return it to the store. Some pre-cut slices may contain pieces of plastic. Jumbo made a similar appeal on Tuesday.
In the case of ALDI, it concerns slices of young and medium-aged cheese from Uniekaas Holland B.V., specifically 400-gram packages with expiration dates of 26-09-2025 and 30-09-2025. Other expiration dates are not affected by the “production error,” the supermarket writes.
In the case of Jumbo, it concerns slices of its own brand of young 48%+ cheese and young matured 30%+ cheese, with varying expiration dates.
Customers can find more information about the products on the supermarkets’ websites. Upon return, customers will receive a refund, even without a receipt.
