Ajax plays a draw against Monaco in the last exhibition game, substitute Brobbey drops out

Ajax concluded their preparation for the new season with a 2-2 draw on Sunday. Bertrand Traoré prevented a defeat against AS Monaco with a goal in the final phase. Substitute Brian Brobbey dropped out with an injury.

Ajax took the lead after half an hour through Kenneth Taylor, who shot in after a quick combination with Davy Klaassen. Not much later, former RKC Waalwijk striker Mika Biereth provided the equalizer. In the second half, Takumi Minamino made it 1-2.

Substitute Mika Godts unintentionally played a major role in AS Monaco’s second goal. The attacker wanted to get past Jordan Teze around his own sixteen-meter area, but the former PSV player did not let himself be fooled. Teze then quickly crossed to Minamino, who slid the ball in.

Ajax seemed to be heading for a defeat in the last test before the start of the Eredivisie season after Minamino’s goal, until TraorĂ© was put in position by Godts in the final phase. The attacker shot controlled: 2-2.
