More than fourteen hundred actors, directors and other professionals from the film world have signed a statement in which they promise not to collaborate with Israeli film institutions that are “involved in genocide”. Actors such as Mark Ruffalo, Javier Bardem and Olivia Colman signed the explanation.
“We do not promise to show films, not to perform in or to work in another way with Israeli film institutions (including festivals, cinemas, broadcasters and production companies) that are involved in genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people”, can be read in the statement under the name Film Workers for Palestine.
Examples of that involvement include “justifying or justifying genocide and apartheid, or entering into partnerships with the government that is guilty of this”.
